Hello, I'm Matthew Gain, 

I founded Gain Alaska to embark on a journey to bring Fresh Wild-Caught Alaskan Seafood to your table. It was a decision I made to connect people to the essence of Alaska.

Generations of my family have operated on the Alaskan waters, creating a legacy deeply rooted in fishing. It all started with my grandfather, a homesteader who carved out a life in Alaska well before it gained statehood. He cast his nets into the ocean, becoming a skilled commercial fisherman and igniting a multi-generational legacy that would redefine seafood quality for those who wouldn't normally have the chance to experience it.

During my father's childhood, he was raised aboard my grandfather's salmon fishing boat. Summer breaks were spent fishing alongside the waves, cultivating a bond with the sea that was as natural as the ebb and flow of the tides. My father's journey led him not only to salmon but also to halibut, crab, cod, and a myriad of other bounties that the ocean graciously offered.

And so, the tradition continued with me. Much like my father before me, my upbringing was steeped in the art of salmon fishing. Every summer unfolded on the deck of a fishing vessel, as I navigated the waters that had shaped our family for generations. Growing up as an Alaskan commercial fisherman instilled in me a profound appreciation for the wild and pristine resources that emerge from Alaska's untamed seas.

Now, Gain Alaska stands as a tribute to our heritage and a beacon of access for those who seek the remarkable flavors of the Alaskan waters. With a legacy spanning back through time, our commitment to quality and respect for nature's bounty remains unwavering.
