What To Expect: The Gain Alaska Pre-Order Process
Thank you for your incredible support and trust in placing your 2026 pre-orders with Gain Alaska. To give you full transparency into how our season works, here is a clear breakdown of the journey your wild-caught, ocean-run sockeye takes from the waters of the Cook Inlet directly to your dinner table.
1. The Harvest Window (June – August) Our sockeye salmon is harvested by commercial fishermen in Alaska during a very short, highly regulated summer season. Because this premium product is only available for a few brief months, we rely on your pre-orders to know exactly how much salmon we need to secure for the year.
2. A Better Way to Buy Seafood Unlike big box stores, we refuse to stockpile massive amounts of inventory. We don't believe in letting seafood bounce around from warehouse to warehouse for months before it finally reaches your family. Your pre-order ensures we bring in exactly what is needed—nothing sits, and nothing is wasted.
3. Chilled on the Water, Processed in Hours Quality starts the moment the fish leave the water. Our catch is immediately chilled on the boats and delivered directly to the processing facility within hours. It is then expertly processed and flash frozen locally in Alaska to lock in the salmon at its absolute peak freshness.
4. Safe Transport to Indiana We will continue taking pre-orders until our firm cutoff date of August 10th. Once the season's catch is fully processed, the product is safely packed and transported directly to our local cold storage facility in Indiana. Fulfilling all orders at the same time allows us to significantly reduce shipping freight costs—savings that is passed directly to (YOU) our customers.
5. Final Delivery and Pickup The moment the product is safely received at our Indiana facility, we will reach out to notify you of your specific delivery or pickup date.
Operating in this seasonal method is how we guarantee you receive the absolute highest quality, wild-caught seafood possible. We will keep you updated every step of the way as your ocean-run salmon makes its journey to you. If you have any questions about your order or our process, please reach out—we are always happy to help!
